NH over Penn Hills 13-2
The North Hills Indians Varsity jumped out to an early lead on Penn Hills and captured a 13-2 victory on Wednesday at Penn Hills High School.
With nine runs in the first three innings, the North Hills Indians Varsity left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
An RBI single by Nathan Bly, a walk by Anthony Ruggieri, and a two-run double by Damian Yenzi in the second inning helped the North Hills Indians Varsity put some runs on the board early.
Yenzi racked up four RBIs on two hits for the North Hills Indians Varsity.
Andrew Toplak got the win for the North Hills Indians Varsity thanks to three strikeouts. Toplak allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk over five innings.
Mathis took the loss for Penn Hills . He allowed nine runs in three innings, walked five and struck out two.
The North Hills Indians Varsity tacked on another five runs in the third. A single by Bly ignited the offense,, plating Nick Leise.
The North Hills Indians Varsity piled on three more runs in the top of the fourth. Ruggieri started the inning with a single, scoring JT Mazula. That was followed up by Yenzi's single, plating Steven Miller and Ruggieri.
