Varsity uses big sixth inning to beat Seneca, 10-1
A six-run explosion in the sixth inning lifted the North Hills Indians Varsity to a 10-1 win in seven innings over Seneca Valley at Seneca Valley High School on Wednesday.
The North Hills Indians Varsity scored in the sixth on an RBI double by Damian Yenzi, a two-run triple by Brendan Burke, an RBI double by Brian Farabaugh, an RBI single by Nick Leise, and a groundout by Derrick Donatelli.
Burke helped the North Hills Indians Varsity take the lead for good in the sixth inning.
Burke racked up two RBIs on one hit for the North Hills Indians Varsity.
Andrew Toplak recorded the win for the North Hills Indians Varsity. He allowed one run over five innings. Toplak struck out none, walked two and gave up three hits.
Greiner was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out three.
The North Hills Indians Varsity tacked on another four runs in the seventh. A clutch scored Steven Miller to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Leise's single, bringing home Anthony Ruggieri.
