NH Varsity takes out NA with help from Damian Yenzi, 5-1
The North Hills Indians Varsity beat North Allegheny 5-1 in seven innings on Monday at North Hills Herb Field behind Damian Yenzi, who went 2-3.
He singled in the first and fifth innings.
The North Hills Indians Varsity got the win thanks in large part to Mike Serpa's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Serpa allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks over seven innings.
Smith took the loss for North Allegheny . He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
In the first inning, North Allegheny pushed across its only run of the day on an RBI double by Marsico.
The North Hills Indians Varsity stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring two runs on a two-run double by Brendan Burke.
The North Hills Indians Varsity added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth. A error scored Yenzi and Brian Farabaugh to get the North Hills Indians Varsity on the board in the inning.
