North Hills Indians Varsity took the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over Seneca Valley on Wednesday. The game was tied at six with North Hills Indians Varsity batting in the top of the sixth when Jordan Pitchford's sac fly scored one run for North Hills Indians Varsity.
A four-run lead in the second inning was just enough for North Hills Indians Varsity to hold off Seneca Valley for the victory. Seneca Valley put up five runs in the failed comeback. Vozel, #11, and Datolli all picked up RBIs in the rally.
North Hills Indians Varsity got things started in the first inning. Conner Warner singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
North Hills Indians Varsity scored three runs in the second inning. North Hills Indians Varsitybatters contributing to the big inning included Alex Glatz and Beau Braunlich, all driving in runs in the frame.
Seneca Valley scored three runs in the fourth inning. Seneca Valley scored its runs on a home run by #11.
Braunlich got the win for North Hills Indians Varsity. He allowed two hits and four runs over three innings, striking out five. Pitchford threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Morrone got the start for Seneca Valley. He went two innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking one. #7 and #26 entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and two innings respectively.
North Hills Indians Varsity hit two home runs on the day. Garret Barto had a long ball in the fifth inning. Glatz went for the long ball in the second inning. Seneca Valley launched two home runs on the day. Vozel went deep in the second inning. #11 had a homer in the fourth inning.
North Hills Indians Varsity collected nine hits. Pitchford and Barto all managed multiple hits for North Hills Indians Varsity. Barto and Pitchford each collected two hits to lead North Hills Indians Varsity.
