North Hills Indians Varsity Grabs Lead In Extra Innings For Victory Over Mars

  • North Hills Indians Varsity defeated Mars 2-1 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with North Hills Indians Varsity batting in the top of the twelfth when Jordan Pitchford singled off of Frank Craska, driving in one run.

  • The pitching was strong on both sides. hurlers for North Hills Indians Varsity struck out 12, while Mars pitchers sat down nine.

  • Mars knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mars scored one run when Frank Craska singled with two outs in the sixth inning.

  • Garrett Barto earned the win for North Hills Indians Varsity. He went five innings, surrendering zero runs, three hits, and striking out five.  Craska took the loss for Mars. He tossed two innings, allowing one run, two hits, and walking zero.

  • Joey Pusateri started the game for North Hills Indians Varsity. He threw seven innings, giving up one run, four hits, and striking out seven.  Rotz started the game for Mars. He tossed seven innings, giving up one run, five hits, and striking out three.

  • North Hills Indians Varsity collected seven hits.  Barto and Jordan Pitchford each collected multiple hits for North Hills Indians Varsity.  Pitchford and Billy Welsh each drove in one run to lead North Hills Indians Varsity.

  • Wetherholt went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Mars in hits. Mars was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Craska had the most chances in the field with eight.
