Butler defeats NH despite David Lane's strong effort, 5-2

David Lane did his best to change the outcome, but Lane couldn't will the North Hills Indians JV past Butler as the North Hills Indians JV lost 5-2 in seven innings at Butler High School on Thursday.

Lane put together a nice outing. Lane held Butler hitless over two-thirds of an inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.

Butler was sparked by 21 and 20, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.

The top of the first saw the North Hills Indians JV take an early lead, 1-0. A single by JT Mazula, scoring Ryan Hohman started the inning off.

Butler survived the North Hills Indians JV's surge and put up one run of its own in the third. Butler scored on a groundout by eight.

Butler stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fourth, scoring two runs on an RBI single by 21.
