All-around effort leads NH past Hampton 6-2

An impressive two-way performance from Brendan Burke led the North Hills Indians Varsity to a 6-2 win Wednesday over Hampton , as Burke came up huge at the dish and on the rubber. 

Burke went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the North Hills Indians Varsity. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning. 

Burke picked up the win for the North Hills Indians Varsity. Burke pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out four. 

McAuliffe couldn't get it done on the mound for Hampton , taking a loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs. 

The top of the first saw the North Hills Indians Varsity take an early lead, 1-0. The North Hills Indians Varsity got a spark in the form of a Anthony Ruggieri double, before before Burke doubled, plating Ruggieri. 

Hampton tied the game in the second on an RBI double by Dayton that scored Kubay. 

The North Hills Indians Varsity didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the third inning when they scored on an RBI double by Luke Chutko. 

After posting two runs in the fifth, the North Hills Indians Varsity again scored two in the sixth. In the fifth, the North Hills Indians Varsity scored on an RBI triple by Steven Miller, bringing home Chutko. 

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the sixth, Hampton faced just a 6-2 deficit. A single by Dayton set off Hampton rally. But, Burke got Mattsion to fly out to end the inning.
